Hi! I have a 1951 Pacer s/n 20-595 N715JY with O-290D (125HP) engine. This airplane has not flown since 1969 and is in the final phase of a 12-year restoration. The frame was taken down to bare metal and powder coated. Everything is basically all new with new or rebuilt parts. Unfortunately, I am missing a few parts. I am from Idaho but currently working in Africa. An A&P/IA is finishing up the restoration while I am gone and I could use some help tracking down the following parts.

Spinner
I’m not exactly sure what spinner I need. We have the old spinner but it has enlarged mounting holes and my IA says it is not usable or repairable. It is the stubby one, which I guess is for all 108/125HP engines. My IA thinks it would be best to put on the one for the 150HP engine, if it would work. Either way, I need a spinner for that engine. Not sure if the backing plate is good; he is going to check. If I can put on the 150 spinner then I would probably need both spinner & backing plate.

Oil cooler bracket and hoses
Trying to figure out the oil cooler is one of our biggest problems. I guess it is a small one that mounts on the back of the engine on top. I have the cooler but no mounting bracket(s) or hoses. I understand it was only used on the early 125HP Pacers. Picture & dimensions to follow.

Tailpipe
This is a straight pipe (picture attached). I prefer to buy used in good shape, but I can get one at Univar p/n if needed (p/n U11417-004 $124).

Gascolator
Need a gascolator in serviceable condition.

Lift Strut Fork Bolt
I need two bolts for the oil filled Univair struts. We’ll probably order these from Univair (U13241-000, $9.19) but if you have two and want to sell them, let me know.

Generator V-belt
I have an original 15A Generator that needs a belt. We can probably find one based on length, but if anybody has a part number that would be great. My parts books are in storage.

Thanks very much. I hope to get all the remaining parts I need so he can get it together so I can fly the plane when I come back to Idaho for vacation at the end of July.

Thanks for your help.

I have an extra oil cooler duct, bracket and a set of old hoses. Let me know if you want pictures, measurments or want to buy. I made the duct from a original one as a pattern. The bracket and hoses came from a 52 Pacer. Also I had my spinner repaired by a certified repair station here in Wisconsin that specializes in approved spinner repair. They welded the holes shut and redrilled, supplied yellow tag with returned spinner.

Thanks Todd. Please send me a personal email and let me know how much you want for the oil cooler parts (duct, mount, lines) and spinner. Thanks -- Jim Dunn (jim@tru-cast.com).

Jim
Get a new one....$200.00 and a lot safer than the old wire bailed POC....

Of course I am biased since I designed this one.
